Well, you know you’re really screwed when you get home at 2 a.m. in the morning after a night out with friends, and as you turn the key into your apartment door, you realize that — shit — you still haven’t done a creativity project.
So then you take a shower and reflect on the day. What has inspired you today? What can you reflect on that will help produce a creativity project? Well, I’ve been spending a lot of time thinking about what it means to be happy. Because that’s the ultimate end goal, isn’t it?
Which led me to think about all the most important people in my life — and how they define “happiness.” Because it’s a lot easier defining theirs than defining mine.
Tonight’s creativity project — estimating what makes my friends happy. It’s an interesting exercise — and not one that I think I have ever tried to do before. So, what makes my friends happy, according to me?
D: Staying healthy, traveling/exploring and finding time to relax
K: Being in a leadership position, where the end goal is to be expressive, or artistic
J: Constant creation or invention without restrictions or confinement
KLung: Trusting physical movement and unrelenting honesty
DZ: Uncovering stories, being surrounded by art, loving animals
M: Peaceful existence without interruptions from society/relationships/culture
Z: Goal-driven stability with a dash of an adrenalin rush
I think I could definitely rewrite these as mini recipes, with each trait being an ingredient.
Nonetheless — I’m going to fall asleep on my keyboard. Day #26 — done!
