Day #22 – So, what are you doing right now?

Tonight, I invaded my friends’ privacy. A little bit, at least. Using gchat, twitter and facebook, I contacted friends (and strangers) and asked them the same thing every social networking web site asks: “What are you doing right now?” Once they gave me their “status update,”, I then asked them to take a screengrab of their computer screen and send it to me. Essentially I was asking them to show me their status updates. (For those tweeting mobile-ly,I asked them to shoot a picture of what was in front of them)

Thanks to some very kind friends (and strangers), I have an hours’ worth of status updates and screen grabs. Almost everyone is multi-tasking. And ultimately, once I interrupted their tasks with my gchat/fbchat/tweet, they weren’t really doing what they said they were doing in the first place, anyway.
